The Type PL pick-up lift was designed for use with B&O tone arms. It was oil-damped so that it lowered the pickup slowly on to the record when released.
The lift was designed for mounting on the arm base. The actual semi-circular lifting device moved in between pickup arm and the stylus pressure spring.
The lifting device was adjusted for approx. 10 mm clearance between the record and the pickup stylus with the lifting device in its top position.
