Beocord 2200 was a high-fidelity cassette recorder with Dolby noise reduction system and high density ferrite heads which offered good sound quality and a long useful lifetime.
There was a push-button for switching between chromium dioxide and normal tapes. With the Dolby noise reduction system and chromium dioxide tapes a signal-to-noise ratio of 61 dB was obtainable. There were two large VU meters and separate recording level controls for left and right channels. There was automatic stop at the end of the tape and the memory function supplemented the 3-digit counter so that the tape could automatically stop at a '0' reading.
Sockets for headphones and microphone were discreetly hidden under a sliding panel on the top of the unit. The frequency range was 30-14,500 Hz. Wow and flutter was less than ± 0.12 % (JIS) or ± 0.2 % (DIN).
