An original that defied comparison

Beocenter 4000 had two cassette decks and a tuner/amplifier and was described as the 'ultimate machine for tape professionals - and for the true enthusiasts' upon its release.

The recording deck was equipped with both the Bang & Olufsen HX-Pro recording system and Dolby B Noise Reduction circuitry to give the finest possible recording quality. You could mix sound from the Beocenter 4000's FM, Medium and Long Wave tuner/amplifier. And even do a DJ talk-over with a microphone. Auto-reverse turned the tape direction automatically giving up to 2 hours (C120) recording time or 3 hours continuously in playback using both decks. You also had an entire evening's entertainment at your fingertips because you could repeat both sides of Tape 1 and one side of Tape 2.

The FM, Medium and Long Wave tuner/amplifier of Beocenter 4000 had all the features of Beocenters 2200 and 2100 - including presets for 4 stations and sockets for an impressively wide range of connections.
