This was the follow up camera to the 4000 and was a re-labelled Shibaden HV-50. It was a two piece Black and White camera with the ability once again to be used with the Beocord 4000 Video Recorder.

A much more sophisticated design than the earlier 4000, which was also a Shibaden design, the 4400 boasted an optical viewfinder and was designed to be hand held rather than tripod mounted.

For a good overview of these cameras, visit the Labguys World site, which has larger pictures of both B&O labelled cameras as well as the original Shibaden models.

I think it is fair to say that the B&O designers were unlikely to earn a living from these cameras!
