Multi function Recording
The DVD2 offers for the first time for B&O the ability to record to a DVD disc. It combines the convenience of a Hard Disc Drive and hence the ability to time shift and manage your viewing with the extra ability to archive your most precious moments onto DVD.
The DVD2 is designed to fit into a number of different situations. It can act as a main DVD player for those without an integrated DVD player. It can also act as a recording device with the ability to program recording from the integral tuner onto the hard disc. These can be edited and transferred to DVD after recording thus forming an archive.
There is also a role as an instant recorder of whatever is playing on the TV set and to later edit that content as well. All of these roles can be combined though deciding the main role helps set up the options.
The DVD2 also boasts an HDMI out socket which allows digital connection to sets like the Beovision 8 as well as the Beosystem 3.
The design shows it as the latest in the new range and it is similar in appearance to the HDR2. The top plate of the front swings down to reveal more connections on the front for devices like camcorders and has a Fire Wire port - another first for B&O!
An Electronic Programme Guide called Guide Plus+ is fitted though its functionality will be dependent on the market in which it is used.
Multiregion fix.
As this machine is a repackaged Philips, it is easy to make multi region. Go to the Browse page with no DVD in the drive by pressing GO + 0 and enter the code. Don't wait too long between each number!

Watch the digits on the player's LCD display as you key them in. When finished, go to standby and the next time you turn the player on it's ready.
